Hello, I'm new to astronomy and I live in Plattsburgh. Not knowing many people in the area I'm looking for other people old or new to astronomy that might want to try and get a group together for star parties this coming summer, or now, I'm not afraid to go out in the cold as long as the skies are clear.

If you know of any astronomy friendly parks or areas in or around Plattsburgh, that are dark enough for star parties please let me know. I would love to meet other people into astronomy to either help or learn from. I have a twitter account specifically for this reason @AdirondackAsto please add if you are interested. Comment in here if you don't have a twitter account, maybe I'll see about making a facebook fanpage too if there are enough people in or around the area that are interested.

For now I'll keep learning by myself but knowing others in the area would be a great help for helping me better my experience as I dive into this hobby.
