http://lewrockwell.com/spl/why-leaving-ny.html WHY I'M LEAVING NEW YORK by Tom Golisano I love New York. But how much should it cost to call New York home? Decades of out-of-control budgets, spending increases and relentless borrowing have made New York simply too expensive. Politicians like to talk about incentives – incentives for businesses to relocate, incentives to buy local and incentives to make smart decisions. After reviewing the 2009 budget, I have identified the most compelling incentive of all: a major tax break immediately available to all New Yorkers. To be eligible, you need only do one thing: move out of New York state..... Read the Rest... http://lewrockwell.com/spl/why-leaving-ny.html

The most dangerous man, to any government, is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it.
-H.L. Mencken
The American Republic is in remnant status. The stage is set for our country eventually devolving into a military dictatorship, and few seem to care. These precedent-setting changes in the law are extremely dangerous and will change American jurisprudence forever if not revised. The beneficial results of our revolt against the King's abuses are about to be eliminated, and few Members of Congress and few Americans are aware of the seriousness of the situation. Complacency and fear drive our legislation without any serious objection by our elected leaders. Sadly, though, those few who do object to this self-evident trend away from personal liberty and empire-building overseas are portrayed as unpatriotic and uncaring. Though welfare and socialism always fails, opponents of them are said to lack compassion. Though opposition to totally unnecessary war should be the only moral position, the rhetoric is twisted to claim that patriots who oppose the war are not supporting the troops. The cliché "Support the Troops'' is incessantly used as a substitute for the unacceptable notion of supporting the policy, no matter how flawed it may be. Unsound policy can never help the troops. Keeping the troops out of harm's way and out of wars unrelated to our national security is the only real way of protecting the troops. With this understanding, just who can claim the title of "patriot''? Before the war in the Middle East spreads and becomes a world conflict for which we will be held responsible, or the liberties of all Americans become so suppressed we can no longer resist, much has to be done. Time is short, but our course of action should be clear. Resistance to illegal and unconstitutional usurpation of our rights is required. Each of us must choose which course of action we should take: education, conventional political action, or even peaceful civil disobedience to bring about necessary changes. But let it not be said that we did nothing. Let not those who love the power of the welfare/warfare state label the dissenters of authoritarianism as unpatriotic or uncaring. Patriotism is more closely linked to dissent than it is to conformity and a blind desire for safety and security. Understanding the magnificent rewards of a free society makes us unbashful in its promotion, fully realizing that maximum wealth is created and the greatest chance for peace comes from a society respectful of individual liberty. -Ron Paul, floor speech in the House of Representatives 5-22-07 Read or watch the whole thing HERE
They both represent the same bird of prey. They both occupy each wing on the same bird of prey. We the people are the prey. The bird keeper is the banks and financial institutions and the cage they use is money. Neither one is offering the option of abolishing the system that got us in here in the first place. The problem is never addressed and we the people get the short straw, every time.
Check out opensecrets.org and find out who is contributing to these clowns. don't waste a vote for either one of these establishment hacks. They only repeat the same talking points over and over. If you repeat something loud enough and often enough people will believe it.
Barack Obama and John McCain both support a mandatory national (military or otherwise) service, Do you?
They both say they want to fight spending, earmarks and pork barrel waste yet they both voted for a bill that started as 3 pages and cost us 700 billion dollars and ended up 450 pages and costing us 850 billion. That is called lying and talking out of both sides of your mouth.
They both believe in war and spreading democracy around the world at the barrel of gun if necessary.
They both believe in the same system and thus are only there to perpetuate it.
They both believe the government should help do things to make Americans better off.
"Government is essentially the negation of liberty" -Ludwig Von Mises
