Also -- how to track forum activity? An email should be (optionally) sent when there's activity on a thread in which you started/participated. This brings people back to the site. The times that I've been here, if there's something in the 5 entries on the homepage that i recognize, then I look/reply -- otherwise, I will not usually see it again. This thread is a prime example... |

I guess using an outdated browser is a viable solution -- if one can overlook the security implications and lose out on some of the interactivity of Web 2.0. ;) Yes, the font shows as sans-serif for me also, but it's simply too small -- looks like an 8pt arial -- so it's also squished together too tightly. To solve for this, I simply enlarged the fonts -- but this jacks all the ads off the page -- something admins probably would like to avoid. It forces me to change font sizes everytime I come here, something rarely required since the early days of the web. Of course, this also leads to a horizontal scrollbar. And all this takes away something from the user experience. One other point that needs attention (IMHO) is with the login. The site does not (optionally) keep us perpetually logged in -- and after login, one should logically be redirected to the page where they came from. |
