I'm not a winter person either, but I still love the lake, even in winter. Every day, driving past it, something different every time. This lake is just beautiful all year.
When my Son and grandchildren come for a visit during the winter months I enjoy ice fishing out on the lake and taking my grandchildren to fox hill to sleigh ride.
I think I'm going to take up downhill sledding too, next winter. I had done some cross country skiing in the past. Other than that, it's just hikes as usual, with the dog, who really loves the snow!
I love almost everything about Plattsburgh, even the snow (although the road conditions lately have been scary!). My family moved down south when I went to Potsdam college, but I couldn't leave this area. It's just about perfect: I can hike, swim, or head up to Montreal and practice my French. :) The only drawback: no jobs...
I agree MeganE ! Today the snow is wonderful and the warner temp with no wind is nice. Just drive slow! I agree that jobs around here are few and far inbetween. I wonder what the Mayor is trying to do for the city. I know the town has good tax revenue with the Mall and up that way. We need more tourism around here. We need something...
What I love about the "Burgh"- or "Platts Vegas" as we youngins call it is this: It's 50 degrees in March and people start wearing shorts and flip flops... We are hardy people...
