Has anyone heard anything more on how the former county airport is going to be redeveloped?  I saw one plan in the paper about a year ago, but haven't heard anything since. 

This would be a fantastic opportunity for the Town of Plattsburgh to bring something different into the North Country! 

Does anyone have any interesting suggestions?  I'd be interested in passing them on.

My husband says to bring NASCAR to the Clinton County Airport. I disagree.

I've heard the NASCAR rumor, I don't think it will ever happen, but even that would be better than more shopping centers.  I agree with you on that, Gina.  It would be nice to have something that's interactive, and year-round, entertaining, amusing, something active!  HELP!

Especially in the Winter! I have no balance for ski mountains and I am not fond of the cold. Anything active indoors would be good with me.

Yeah, a life center would be nice.  A place that has a gym for workouts, a quiet yoga center, a quiet room for reading on lunch hour, an indoor track (nicer than on the oval), maybe some speakers coming in on occasion.  Wouldn't it be nice to see Dr. Wayne Dyer in person?  We need more calm culture here.

i could go on for hours about this topic. I used to work there for years. For one they will need to level a couple of the facilities. Mainly the old airport terminal itself. I think a race track venue would be ideal.....i mean heck it's right next to the fairgrounds. The only issue at stake is that CCC has an aircraft mechanic program that will probably start soon and they will take over some of the buildings, including the old CommutAir hanger and administrative building, and they will also take the old FBO, the building with the fuel tanks that now has some helicopters and aircraft parts right outside of it.

Couldn't CCC move to the former AFB? 

I would like to see a real mall because ours is horrible! Not a one floor mall with horrible shops in it.  I'd rather drive to Albany to go shopping then the Champlain Centres.
