......A
productive, free, and peaceful society cannot be held together by
violence, surveillance, torture, SWAT teams, lies, and prisons. Neither
can it countenance governmental policies of plundering the fruits of
the labors of an entire population, and redistributing it to the
institutional friends of those in power I
apologize to my children and grandchildren for failing in my moral duty
to protect you from the ravages of tyranny. I shall continue in my
efforts, of course, recognizing that only peaceful methods can produce
a peaceful world. In the meantime, I offer you this advice: (1) never
believe anything the government tells you; (2) never believe anything
the mainstream media tells you; (3) pay attention to – but be skeptical
of – those whose ideas do not conform to consensus-based definitions of
reality; (4) master the art of contrary thinking, and learn to stay
away from herds as well as from those who insist upon herding others
into destructive, lemming-like stampedes; (5) do not put your trust in
those who offer you "hope," but seek out those who will help you
develop understanding; (6) be prepared – as were your ancestors
– to move to new frontiers that are better suited to both your liberty
and material well-being; (7) find, support, protect, and defend
like-minded friends, being mindful of the shared origins of the words
"peace," "freedom," "love," and "friend;" (8) avoid being drawn into
the black hole to which our civilization is destined; whose vacuuming
force is made possible by the collective energies of your neighbors;
and, (9) mindful of all the above, avoid all sense of despair by
combining your intelligence and emotions to help in the creation of a
new civilization grounded in peace, liberty, and respect for the
inviolability of the individual. Read the rest.

Come support our city, country and the rights of many vs. the ravings of the WBC!! 03/06/2009 2:35 PM - 3:15 PM Plattsburgh, NY Plattsburgh High School - God Hates Fag Enablers 1 Clifford Drive We came to Plattsburgh some years back, and the entire town joined together to "stop hate". The irony of them standing and threatening our lives because we tell them God Hates Fags with little rubber wrist bands saying "stop hate" is not lost on us. More important it is not lost on God. God Hates Plattsburgh, and all the little rubber wrist bands in the world cannot change that fact. Now we will come and speak to your young brats and tell them some truth, since we already know the adults in their lives hate them and refuse to tell them ANY truth. Leviticus 19:17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him. Here is what we will tell them, to wit: God Hates You, You're Going To Hell, God Hates Fags, God Hates Fag Enablers AND Obama Is The Antichrist. AMEN! 03/06/2009 6:45 PM - 7:30 PM
Plattsburgh, NY SUNY Plattsburgh - Matt's STILL In Hell! 101 Broad St
(Sing this to "The Beverly Hillbillies" tune) - Come listen to a story
'bout a boy named Matt. A poor little rich boy, with a heart of fat. He
was left by his momma to tend to his own needs. Now she regrets and on
ashes she feeds. You see silly Matt was mistreated as a tot, so as he
matured after filthy sin he sought. Then one night he went trolling for
fag fun - come the next day his blood dried in the sun. His kinfolk
said he shouldn't have got kilt - then said some lies to mitigate their
guilt. Said, "god loves all, so Matt is not to blame". Now Matt's
fat-faced momma glories in her shame. Well some rich, faggy jew penned
a tawdry skit. Any true Thespian sees it doesn't fit. Poet license is
one thing, but oh my. This faggy jew just created a big lie! Hell's to
pay. Face on fire, and worms so dire. Now that is a good poem right
there. See you in Plattsburgh! Meantime read these verses about bloody
and deceitful brats as well as wisdom: Ps 5:6 Thou shalt destroy them
that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
Ps 55:23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of
destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their
days; but I will trust in thee. Ps 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the
beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his
commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Pr 1:7 The fear of the LORD
is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and
instruction. Pr 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:
and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Pr 15:33 The fear of
the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
AMEN! |

“Last week I discussed our worsening economic situation and the fact that there are very few options for the new administration to improve things in the long run. The same is not true on the foreign policy front. Our interventionist foreign policy stands ready to be put on a new course with the new administration. Unfortunately, it seems the new administration is likely to continue the mistakes of the past. I've often discussed interventionist foreign policy and the resulting blowback. The current administration's foreign policy, I'm afraid, has created a huge impetus for blowback against the United States. However, I truly believe much of the world stands ready to look beyond our nation's recent blunders if the new administration proves to be heading in a more reasonable direction…” Click here to read the full article: http://www.house.gov/paul/index.shtml |

I agree there needs to be checks and balances. The city is in poor shape financially and it needs to buckle down. I no longer live in the city anymore so I really can't complain about high taxes. And I understand city residents concern about raising taxes. But at this point it’s a necessary evil that they may need to consider. Officers are better used elsewhere rather than issuing parking violations. And yes there are some city departments that need to make sacrifices and maybe not ask for as much as they are asking for. But I know people complain about crime and vandalism in the city. How is taking an officer off the road to issue parking violations beneficial? I know that it can be worked in to an officer’s daily tasks, but there will never be as many parking tickets issued as would be with a Parking Enforcement Officer. I believe whole heartedly that the PEO is necessary to the city budget along with all the employees involved in law enforcement and fire control. My opinion will not change on that subject. I do not have a clear cut resolution for the cities financial situation by any means and don’t pretend to. There has to be other ways to balance the budget without sacrificing services though.
One idea would be to tax the Lake Forest retirement community, along with other business' that are reaping the benefits and not contributing to the city financially. Raise the cost of electricity usage a little bit. The city has sacrificed a lot when it comes to community event and services as a result of budget problems. How much more can it take before it can't even offer a reason to be proud to a resident of this great city? Mayors Cup has been whittled down to the bare minimum, city recreational activities have been cut to the bare bones. Snow removal seems a little less this year which I am sure saves the city money. It will only get worse before it gets better but I think that is a trend you will see locally and nationally given the situation we as a country are in. We need to ride it through and eventually it will get better I am sure. I have rambled enough though. In closing Ill say cutting important services is not always the best answer it’s only a quick resolution that may only cause more headaches in the future.

Oldrtg, nice to see a new poster on the pipeline! This site is great and there is a lot of useful information on here. While you bring up some great points, you may want to think about somethings. The parking enforcement position does not bring in much revenue to the City. You may think it does (since this person is very, let me think of a nice word, strict) about giving tickets downtown; but it is a matter of numbers. Why do you think the position is being cut? If it brought in so much money, why cut it? Better yet, ask that councilor Carpenter to add more enforcement officers instead of suggesting another $100,000 city position. Trust me, our officers are the best of the best and they can multitask. They will work it out so that they are all not on parking duty.. It is just like how any other City balances their Police force. In fact, they will work how they did BEFORE the PEO (as you call it) was added, probably with some modifications. It is sad to say oldrtg, but, think of it this way. Why is there so much discussion about say the Fire budget. Are you telling me they should get EVERYTHING they want? Come on! There has to be discretion economically on all levels: Nationwide, statewide, and locally. |

Kibble, The position of Parking Enforcement Officer is a valid position in the city. It provides much revenue for the city. And it is cost effective contrary to what people say. Find out how much revenue the tickets he wrote were compared to his salary. And then find out what the city ACTUALLY collected in fines. And do you really expect a Patrol Officer to be able to enforce parking violations on top of the rest of his/her normal daily activities. I am sorry but parking tickets would probably be the last thing on his/her mind. There are always ways to cut expenses, but the city should not cut the hand that actually works at getting the city money consistently. You take the PEO off the streets that means a Patrol Officer is stuck doing it when he/she could be actually assisting with an emergency that they are needed at. You don’t cut Public Safety/Fire Control budgets. That just never made sense to me. Unless John Q public likes knowing fewer officers are on the road to protect them. |

-Kibbles I just want you to know I will always listen to your opinion. I always enjoy our little discussions. Grants come from taxes by the way...You know rob from Peter to give to Paul. You know if some of these people were not so greedy and decided to take a pay cut and handle this like responcible adults some of these people would not loose their jobs. In this I am talking about both elected officals and city employees. By the way I don't know if you have noticed but all news is slanted in some way, not just what I have posted. All of this money from grants comes from somewhere ie my taxes. Maybe some day we will get a debate going well enough that some other people will choose to have their voices heard as well. I'm not old enough to remember when police issued tickets and just as well because serving the public and fining the public are two very different things. It really is time we started to severly limit government on all levels to what was originally intended. |
