LOCAL GROUP TO UNLEASHE ZOMBIES ON PLATTSBURGH
The Crafty Geek Brigade
will once again be hosting an all-ages zombie walk in Downtown Plattsburgh
On October 23, 2010 at 6:00pm The Crafty Geek Brigade will be gathering zombies for a march through the streets of downtown Plattsburgh. The group hosted this all-ages event last year, and they are hoping to get an even larger turn out for this year's Zombie Walk. Zombie Walks are an international way to celebrate the spirit of Halloween. Participants are asked to dress up in their most goulish attire and roam the streets acting like the undead.
The Zombie Walk will begin at the Durkee Street Farmer's Market, in downtown Plattsburgh, where participants will be asked to register, and review the rules of the walk. From there they will walk through the streets of downtown Plattsburgh, and eventually lurch their way to the Plattsburgh State Campus. The Center for Womyns concerns has partnered up with the Crafty Geek Brigade to host the Zombie Prom in the Alumni Room in the Angel College center immediately following the walk. Refreshments, photo booth, raffels and live music by DJ adamdef, Vermont Joy Parade, Bike to the Future, Long Cat, Deviant Loners and more to be announced will be taking place until midnight.
The Crafty Geek Brigade asks that all participants bring a modest donation of $2-$5 to participate. Donations will go toward supporting the creation of "Free the Food" being established by Rich Green. Free the Food is a donation based initiative that gives fresh, hot food to the hungry and will also feature open mics and movies to bring the community together. The project will launch in mid to late October.
The
Crafty Geek Brigade is a community building organization in Plattsburgh
area, open to community members of all ages and types, we aim to create
an outlet for anything and everything - local business, artists, musicians,
writers, astronauts, magicians- everyone is welcome.
