Residents and visitors in Plattsburgh, the North Country and the Champlain Valley now have an interactive web site for community information, input, and individual participation.
PlattsburghPipeline.com
features a Community Calendar where anyone can post or locate events in
and around Plattsburgh, New York. Any active groups, from non-profit
organizations like The North Country Center for Independence to local
bands like ElephantBear or Lucid, can post events on the
plattsburghpipeline.com's Community Calendar.
Another feature of
the web site, Pipeline Pages, is a local business directory targeting
Plattsburgh, Burlington and Montreal consumers. Its goal is to acquaint
shoppers with local businesses, increase revenues of local business
owners, and create more jobs in the community. Local business owners
Lee-Ann and John Wheeler of Commercial Site Services, Inc. say " The
advertising on the pipeline website is awesome, we really like what it
is doing for our business and our community."
The Community
Pipeline feature on plattsburghpipeline.com is a post-and-discuss forum
with a free range of subjects from alternative news to local outdoors
experiences, allowing all visitors to the site to create or find a
topic of interest and exchange ideas. Some topics include titles such
as; "Gas Groans & Moans", "City Streets", and "Windmills".
The
web site also gives Plattsburgh a new independent radio station.
Visitors to the site can sample the music of area performers by
clicking on plattsburghpipeline.com's Internet radio station. Pipeline
Radio is Plattsburgh's sole broadcast outlet for local music, and is
carried world-wide through iTunes, Windows Media, Shoutcast Radios.
PlattsburghPipeline.com
appears to have found and filled some important gaps in communications
and community services in the North Country and Champlain Valley. The
site will be expanding as local businesses and participants take
advantage of the new services it offers.
