Double Axel has been around. Around the North Country, Around the Tri-Lakes Area, Around the Thousand Islands, Around New York State, Around Massachusetts  and Vermont. In Fact, they've been around for over thirty five years playing their unique brand of vocal-oriented rock and roll.

Members of the group are:
Rob Zolner (guitar, vocals)
Alex Vangellow (drums, keys, vocals)
Frank Johns (bass, vocals)

Rob and Alex are from Potsdam and  Frank is from Saranac Lake. All three performed their first gig as Double Axel in Saranac Lake in 1971. Over the years the band has played at thousands of nightclubs, parties and proms throughout the North Country as well as numerous high school and college reunions. Double Axel annual favorites include the Potsdam Summer Festival/Alumni weekend and Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. A highlight of the group's career was playing on the ice in the Lussi Rink for all of the international athletes at the 1980 Winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid.

After three year of writing and recording, Double Axel has just released a full length CD of all original songs. The recording is true of the Double Axel Style and is based on Franks quirky lyrics, Alex's lead vocals and Rob's guitar and production skills. Tapping their Rock n' Roll and R&B roots, Double Axel performs classic hit of the past and present – but only those you can dance to... When Double Axel performs, you can't sit still!
