The Spitfire Nines - (Grenville sur la Rouge, Quebec)
Country rock - http://www.spitfirenines.com

Bands and relationships are really quite alike; it
takes a few mistakes to realize what is good and what works. The
Spitfire Nines are THE band that we have been waiting for. The song
writing is strong, the band's live show lays it on the line everytime.
The Nines are a collision of influences. The urgency of the
1980's montreal underground got welded to the bizarre life of a rocker
who grew up on the farm in rural Quebec. All that remained was to add a
high desert western instrumentalist and a rock star bass player and the
die was cast.
The band cites a wide range of influences, but the
sound is somewhere in the neighbourhood of The Clash, Uncle Tupelo, and
Urge Overkill. They do a mean Blondie too! But you have to see them
live to get it.
The Nines are made for the stage. With the cost
of tickets today, the customer had damn well better get a good show for
their money and The Spitfire Nines deliver every time!
Songs
range from pop rock gems about bad-relationship choices in Mood Ring,
to the political mud-slinging, countrified crunch of El Dorado, to
taking a leap of faith and letting destiny take the wheel in the
stadium sized Shifting to Glide.
So get onboard with the Spitfire Nines so you can say "I knew them when..."
