After meeting by chance online, the member of Sinecure (sin-eh-cure) played together for the first time in January of 2008.  The three members, Justin Buck (29, bass and vocals), Jordan Buck (24, guitar and vocals), and Jack Brand (27, drums and vocals) quickly learned that the three shared the same musical tastes and inclinations.  Their sound seems to improvisational blend of gritty rock and roll, and contemporary electronic dance and house music.  For the next year and a half the members of Sinecure played together as often as possible in both practice sessions and local open mic nights to smooth the edges of their sound, and get to know each other as a musician.  Full time devotion to the band would have to wait, as Justin was living in Iowa as a film editor the majority of the time.  Practice sessions would last a few weeks at a time at best.

      Finally in the early part of the summer of 2009 Justin moved home for good, and Sinecure got down to business in the practice studio.  Slowly but surely the band has been making a name for themselves in the Plattsburgh music scene with a sound that is original to the area, and a breath of fresh air to Plattsburgh music fans.  2010 brings a new year for Sinecure.  Although still in their infancy, Sinecure’s sound has drastically matured from those early on, late night jam sessions. After getting more than a few gigs under their belt the band has been working on expending their musical catalogue, which is a mix of originals and covers.  Watch for Sinecure to be playing at a spot near you in 2010.  Come out and dance and have a good time, that’s what they’re all about.
